Job Description:
This is a paid student internship. Work is in-area, in-person, with a flexible schedule.
Interns will:
· Represent Smoky Mountain Outdoors Whitewater Rafting by making door to door courtesy visits, greeting and getting to know Front Line Personnel at every hotel, resort, cabin /condo rental agency, and campground in the marketplace. Area representatives will be assigned territories in which to concentrate their efforts.
· During courtesy visits, Area Representatives will distribute branded courtesy gifts and informational material as well as supplemental brochure display placements as permitted. Additionally, Area Representatives will discover and forward to Marketing Director contact information and opportunities for deeper partnership practices, ticket sales, or other traffic-driving strategies that might arise during the course of courtesy visits.
- Area Representatives will attend monthly industry meetings appropriate to their territories in the company of the Marketing Director.
- Area Representatives will assist with promotional events and facilitate mascot appearances upon mutually agreeable scheduled dates.
- Area Representatives will assist the Marketing Director as liason between the marketplace, Reservations Offices, and Riverside Outpost.
- Area Representatives may be asked to assist the Marketing Director with social media content.
Reporting:
Area Representatives will report to Marketing Director through regular meetings, and completion of an on-line visitation log.
Requirements:
30 hours per week, minimum 60 courtesy visits per week
Weekly visitation log completed and communicated to Marketing Director
Area Representatives are responsible for their own transportation and must display signage while on duty
Smoky Mountain Outdoors will provide a gas allowance to compensate for personal vehicle use
Housing is not provided

Compensation and Benefits:
Wages and gas allowance to be paid bi-weekly
Complimentary whitewater rafting: unlimited for Area Representative plus guests through 2024 season. Complimentary admission to many area attractions.
