Intern with independent, non-governmental organizations dedicated to preserving cultural heritage in Kosovo.
As the youngest country in Europe, Kosovo has a long and rich history which has not always been accurately and efficiently documented. These organizations are committed to preserving cultural heritage and promoting historical narratives. Through investigative efforts, they shed light on Kosovo’s rich history, encouraging a deeper understanding of its identity. The tradition of oral storytelling is a long-established cultural trait of Kosovo. It has preserved the history of individuals, families, and the nation in the form of narratives and stories, gaining scholarly credibility. In this way, these organizations provide a platform for individuals to share their stories, maintaining the collective memory of the community. These organizations are also dedicated to safeguarding monuments and architectural landmarks that reflect Kosovo’s diverse culture. This way, they honor the legacies of past generations and make sure the future generations learn about, and appreciate, their heritage.
Depending on the Intern’s skill set and interest, the Intern will be assigned to one or more of the following projects associated with the cultural heritage in Kosovo:
- Exhibition Curation & Design
- Education Development & Training
- Project Planning & Implementation
