Argonne National Laboratory, one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) major research centers, is pleased to announce opportunities for college undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the Laboratory’s ongoing programs.
Candidate will:
- Developing process and instrumentation diagram for a toxic gas delivery system.
- Implementation of process controls for new hydrogen degassing.
- Participation in design reviews and risk assessments for new hydrogen projects.
- Assisting with implementation of the Chemical Hygiene plan and Reactive Chemistry program.
- Participating in laboratory chemical process risk assessments.
- Identifying laboratory chemical reaction monitoring and control methods
- Conducting laboratory walk-throughs and observations of laboratory chemical operations
- Assisting with laboratory exposure assessments and identification of exposure control measures
Position Requirements
This opportunity is open to any undergraduate or graduate student with relevant experience who meets the following criteria:
- Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution and have completed at least one semester of schooling by the start of the program.
- Currently enrolled in a Chemical Engineering or Process Safety degree program.
- Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
- Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test.
This position is intended to be conducted on-site. Your actual schedule will be determined upon hire.
