The Independent Project is seeking a Design & Development Assistant to support across both creative and technical aspects of the studio. This role is hands-on and provides exposure to the full lifecycle of garment development, from concept through final sample and production.
Responsibilities
- Assist with design research, moodboards, and visual development
- Create and update CADs, flats, and technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator
- Organize fabrics, trims, and development materials
- Track samples and maintain development timelines
- Assist during fittings and take detailed notes
- Support communication with factories, mills, and vendors as needed
- Maintain general studio organization and workflow
