Business Development Intern — Settlyfe Inc. (early-stage startup, remote, flexible hours)
Settlyfe is an AI-powered housing marketplace connecting renters, landlords, agents, and home-service providers across the whole moving journey. We are pre-launch and small, so you would be our first business development hire, working directly with the founder — not cold-calling off a list someone else built.
Marketplaces live or die on supply. Your job is supply: getting landlords, property managers, agents, and local service providers onto Settlyfe.
What you’ll do
- Build the target list of landlords, property managers, and service providers worth approaching.
- Run outreach end to end — email, calls, in-person — and own the follow-up.
- Sit in on partner conversations, then write the pitch and objection handling we use next time.
- Track the pipeline honestly so we know what’s working and what isn’t.
- Bring back what partners actually complain about, so we fix the product.
What we’re looking for
- You are studying business, economics, communications, real estate, or something adjacent — or you have just sold something before and liked it.
- You can write a clear, short email to a stranger and get a reply.
- You don’t take a “no” personally.
- Bonus, not required: CRM experience, real estate or property exposure, cold outreach, campus organizing.
If you don’t match every bullet, apply anyway. We care more about how you handle a conversation than what’s on your resume.
Logistics, stated plainly
- This internship is currently unpaid. We’d rather say that up front than bury it.
- Roughly Full time 30-40 hours a week, or part time at 20 hours a week minimum, scheduled around your classes. Remote.
- Eligible for academic credit where your school allows it.
- You keep the work: a real pipeline, real closed partners, and a founder who will actually be a reference.
Process: one 30-minute call with the founder, then a short follow-up conversation. Decisions within a week. No cover letter needed.
