Remember how exciting it was to get new school supplies at the beginning of the school year? There’s nothing like a brand-new box of crayons! Unfortunately, children in under-served communities don’t always have access to the school supplies they need. According to Teach for America, for students whose families cannot afford supplies, coming to school unprepared can create social and emotional challenges, in addition to putting children at a disadvantage for learning.
How can you help?
We invite you to participate in the KPMG Elementary School Supply Drive by purchasing an item or items off the provided school supplies list. Prices on the supply list will vary, please spend as much or as little as you are comfortable with. Items will start at $1. Please donate them to a local school of your choice in your area. Those who participate will be entered into a raffle and the selected winner will be honored by a donation from KPMG First Book to donate $1,000 worth of books to a local school.
Not able to purchase school supplies? Not to worry, you can still make an impact! You can print out and decorate a provided notecard, scan it back and send to us and we will include in our donation to First Book! Note: if you choose this option, you will still be entered into the raffle.
You are welcome to donate school supplies and decorate a notecard as well.
